Is Gildan G800 good for sublimation?

Accepted Answer

Sublimating 100% polyester shirts yields the best results. But we have had customers that got results when sublimating lighter shades of the Gildan G800 made of 50% US cotton and 50% polyester. Note that sublimating this t-shirt may often result in a faded, vintage look.

What is Gildan Dryblend?

Accepted Answer

DryBlend is a fabric blend and technology used by Gildan in some of their styles, combining preshrunk cotton and polyester. DryBlend gives the garment moisture-wicking properties and a bulk of the cotton’s natural comfort and breathability. DryBlend styles are very budget-friendly and are great for situations that require moisture-management and comfort.

Does the Gildan 8000 cotton-poly t-shirt shrink?

Accepted Answer

Cotton is prone to shrinkage, but with Gildan’s DryBlend technology combining preshrunk cotton and polyester, the Gildan 8000 t-shirt only experiences relatively minimal shrinkage unless it’s exposed to high temperatures. We recommend following the t-shirt’s care label instructions to keep it in the best condition.

Is Gildan G800 a heavyweight t-shirt?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it falls under the heavyweight category. But we would call it a medium-heavyweight option. If the style is anywhere between 5.3 oz. and 6 oz. per square yard or more than 6 oz., they classify as heavyweights with a noticeable difference in comfort and feel.

How soft is Gildan G800 compared to the Gildan 64000 Softstyle t-shirt?

The G800 and 64000 t-shirts fall under different weight categories, with the former being heavier than the Softstyle t-shirt. Gildan 64000 or G640 Softstyle is made from 100% ringspun cotton which is softer compared to the 50/50 cotton-polyester blend of the G800.

No. The Gildan 8000, or G800, is a short sleeve t-shirt. It has a long sleeve counterpart called the G840 or Gildan 8400 made of the same 50/50 cotton-poly DryBlend.

How does the Gildan 8000 tee fit?

Like most Gildan 50/50 shirts, the Gildan 8000 cotton blend t-shirt features a classic fit that’s reasonably loose. The t-shirt does not taper down. There will be room in the chest, waist, shoulder, and sleeves for movement. Because it comfortably fits most body types, the Gildan 8000 is also in demand as a cost-effective promotional apparel.

Is Gildan 8000 bleach resistant?

Accepted Answer

No. Because there’s 50% cotton in its fabric, the t-shirt is not resistant to bleach or chemicals. However, some of our customers have bleached the t-shirt. The results vary. We recommend using only non-chlorine bleach, and only if necessary.

Is Gildan 8000 made in the USA?

Accepted Answer

No. Gildan products are manufactured in Honduras (Rio Nance) and the Caribbean. But the cotton used for the G800’s fabric is top-quality preshrunk US cotton.

Is Gildan 8000 a performance t-shirt?

Accepted Answer

No. Gildan 8000 is a regular t-shirt but better. It does come with reasonable moisture-wicking due to the DryBlend technology, which you don’t see in regular t-shirts. Performance t-shirts have far superior moisture management and various other features.
