The Finest Winter-Defying Jackets You Should Check Out
By: Diana Posted on: Dec 1, 2023Winter is coming. We don’t know if “the North remembers” that ShirtsBargain’s Winter Special Deals are around the corner. Jackets - the “shields'' against plummeting temperatures are about to drop in price soon. And it’s high time to discover which jackets your business will need for the season, be it reselling or promotions.
Before we begin, let us reassure you that choosing the right winter jacket isn’t necessarily tiresome, though there are a number of different types and styles from various brands to choose from. Use the filters on our wholesale jackets page to find the ones that suit your preferences.
In this blog, we are going to keep fashion on the backseat and focus more on comfort, warmth, and functionality.
There are a few more things that you should look out for when exploring our winter wear catalog.
These features are what you need to consider primarily
Insulation
Obvious, right? But did you know that there are two types of insulation? There’s Down insulation and Synthetic insulation, and one might be a better choice than the other in certain cases.
If lightweight is what you want, down jackets offer the lightest, warmest insulation that is also compressible. All down jackets have something called a Fill Power rating, with a higher rating indicating better quality. Ideally, a Fill Power Rating of 550 and above is what you will need to brave the Winter chill. The only downside (pun intended) of down jackets is that they are useless when wet. This applies to moisture from the body as well. For active and wet conditions, it’s best to go with synthetic insulation jackets. Though heavier, synthetic insulation can keep wearers warm even when wet. They also tend to be cheaper than down jackets.
Waterproofness
Don’t confuse it with water resistance and water repellency. Technically, water-resistant garments can resist the penetration of water to a certain extent. Water-repellent clothing won’t make it that easy. Waterproof clothing is impervious to water to a significant degree. So, for winter, you will need jackets that have a waterproof coating or one that has undergone a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment.
Heat Retention
It isn’t just about getting thicker jackets to keep the heat in. There are jackets made of materials with excellent heat retention properties. We recommend checking out our Puffer Jackets catalog. Heat Retention is what they are designed for.
Hood
We recommend jackets with hoods for maximum warmth. Or if you find great jackets that don’t have hoods, you can use balaclavas and beanies instead.
Pockets
We are looking at functional jackets here. So pockets are an absolute must-have. At least, two chest pockets at that. Great jackets have side pockets and an inside pocket too. We suggest exploring a good variety of jackets with a lot of color options at low wholesale prices on our Port Authority Jackets wholesale page.
Length
The longer the jacket, the better the warmth throughout. However, the length of the jacket ultimately comes down to how warm you need your bum to be.
Drawcords
Though not necessarily a must-have feature, elastic drawcords on the hood, wrist, and waist can help keep the cold winds out.
Activity
You can find jackets designed specifically for winter activities like skiing, snowboarding, etc. These jackets will have just the right amount of insulation needed while engaging in the activity.
Now we can move on to our recommendations, top jackets that Winterfell never had.
